ABOUT

More than 15 years ago, Paul Linke aka Interpaul, came up with the idea for a band that would create a “world mix” – breaking down cultural barriers and uniting people through music and dance, regardless of their background. In East Slavic languages, “mir” means both “world” and “peace”. Thus, the name MIRMIX was born and became the band’s guiding principle.

Since then, MIRMIX has been a cultural melting pot, with musicians from all around the world contributing elements of their diverse musical backgrounds to the band’s evolving, colorful sound. The current nine members come from both the Americas, Central Europe, the Middle East, the post-Soviet region, and East Asia. They all met in Berlin. So far, MIRMIX has spread its infectious energy across stages from the Black Forest to the Urals.
